The CC Leads XIII (Catholic Carolinian Leadership Development Seminar Batch XIII) was a day 3 day and 2 night event held at Springpark Toledo City, Cebu. The event merged student leaders from main and TC for the first time. Through it, this created a linkage among leaders to easily tap fellow leaders especially when one needs help. Moreover, modules were also presented which tackle about Self-awareness, leadership skills and planning workshop. There were games that indeed both fun-filled and worth-learning like trust walk and action relay. Among others, "the socials" was the most-liked and most prepared activity. Everyone contributed in their respective groups. Leaders showcased their talents and skills where each one mingled in which bonds of friendship, unity and teamwork transpired to every individual.
Learning and insights As a student leader, one must deepen his understanding on how aware is he on himself. There are other people who will look up to you. It is important for this would make a leader better. Different persons have different perceptions on things, values, beliefs and tendencies. If a leader is aware on it, he is rest assured capable of handling certain situations considering every person's differences. An organization is keep alive through communication. The level of communication to our fellowmen varies with respect to our trust to that person. We become more open to the person that we are comfortable to talk to. One must bear in mind that it's not what you say, it's the way you say it. The best communication style is the assertive type as defined by fairness and strength, sensitive, stand on right. In communication there are also barriers that abrupt the flow of message to the receiver. The receiver might have misinterpreted the message you wanted to relay due to factors such the meaning of words, actions, voice. Besides communication skills, a leader has to manage his time effectively. The secret is to systematically focu on importance and suppress urgency. There are things we do in our routine that must be omitted to save time and to be productive at work. It is humane that we procrastinate sometimes but as leaders we need to overcome this habit. Getting over it is a way of finding the root of motivation that each person has a unique way of having it. Leadership has many forms but the most ideal one is servant leadership. As Christ have said He came not to be serve but to serve. A servant leader has qualities of humility, accompanying, pro-life and integrity. To any groups, teamwork plays a vital role. One strand of stick cannot efficiently clean without the other strands. In union there is strength. The achievements of an organization are the results of the combined effort of each individual. The activities of every org. must be in great relevance to its objective stipulated in the constitution and bylaws and result to the development in scientia, virtus and devotion.
